The St.FX. women’s basketball team has a new assistant to their coaching staff. Daneesha Provo will join interim coach Tyrone Watson’s coaching staff for the remainder of the 2021-2022 AUS season.
Provo has been involved with the Canadian national team since 2015 and is currently rehabbing an Achilles injury she suffered last June at the Canadian Basketball senior women’s national team in Tampa Florida leading up to the Olympic Games.
Provo a Dartmouth native says, “I am incredibly excited to join the X-Women Basketball family, and I am looking forward to working with the coaching staff, and the amazing group of student-athletes.”
Watson says, “It’s a step in the right direction for our future success.” Provo will join the team as the team trains awaiting the resumption of the AUS season competing pending the lifting of COVID restrictions on sports participation.
