The Cape Breton Eagles are set to resume play on February 11 according to the organization.
Communications Official for the team, Patrick McNeil, says games missed due to postponements will be rescheduled.
“So right now the QMJHL has committed to extending its regular season, there’s going to be more information coming out in the coming days about when the postponed games will be played. So prior to yesterday’s postponement we had thirteen games that had to be made up and now it’s up to sixteen.” McNeil said.
He adds that how the games will be scheduled could change some.
“I would say the bulk of those will be made up at the end of the season but there is the possibility that they could insert some games into the existing window as it is, we’ll just have to wait and see.” McNeil said.
Due to COVID restrictions, teams still can’t play in Nova Scotia or PEI but McNeil says he’s hopeful that will change soon.
The QMJHL has committed to providing 68 games for its 18 teams.
The league announced their revised schedule yesterday.
The Cape Breton Eagles are now scheduled to resume play on February 11th in Blainville-Boisbriand.
