The man was in his 70s in the Halifax region.
15 people have died from the virus this week.
Premier Tim Houston again urged everyone to be vaccinated.
“We have suffered significant loss of life in the last week,” he says. “My sincere condolences to the 15 families who have lost loved ones.”
There are 99 people being treated for COVID-19 in hospital, 15 of them are in ICU.
