Netflix is cracking down on password sharing

If you share your Netflix password with someone outside your household, your monthly charges could go up.

Netflix will begin to attempt to discourage password sharing by adding a fee. They are planning on charging people who are sharing their account with others who aren’t in the same household.

Right now they are only trying it out in a few places, but if it successfully ends password sharing, they plan on rolling it out everywhere.

The charges are $2.99US for password sharing in Costa Rica, $2.98US in Chile, and about $2.12US in Peru.
