A former chair and vice-chair of the Strait Regional School Board has passed away.
Mary Jess MacDonald served numerous terms as an elected member of the school board.
According to a Facebook post, the Port Hasting native died on Monday night.
MacDonald spent 36 years teaching in the education system before being elected to the board.
