Don’t forget to clean your Hummingbird Feeders!

I love watching Hummingbirds visit my feeder each year. They’ve been in Nova Scotia for a few week – you can check out the migration map here.

It’s important to make sure you keep your feeders clean. If you don’t, mold can grow and cause the hummingbirds to get sick or die.

Once it starts getting really hot, the feeder should be emptied and cleaned twice/week. Right now, when it’s a bit cooler, once/week will be enough. Cleaning with hot water works fine, or you can use a weak vinegar mixture.
