Low-Income Seniors Eligible For Provincial Property Tax Rebate

A tax-break for low-income seniors in our province is available as of Canada Day.

They can apply to get a rebate of half-off their municipal property taxes, up to $800.

In a release, Service Nova Scotia Minister Colton LeBlanc encourages eligible seniors to take advantage of this, as it’s easy to apply.

To qualify, you must have your 2021 property taxes paid off, have your name on the property taxes, and be eligible to receive the Guaranteed Income Supplement from Service Canada.

If you applied last year, you’ll receive a letter in the mail.
