2023 North American Indigenous Games countdown event

Next summer, is the 2023 North American Indigenous games.

The N.A.I.G host society and the TD Halifax Jazz Festival marked the one-year countdown to the games with a celebration last Friday.

The day featured traditional song and dance and a performance by two-time east coast music award winner Morgan Toney.

Mayor Mike Savage stated that he is proud the city will host the games and looks forward to welcoming people from over 750 indigenous communities.

Honourable Pascale St-Onge, minister of sport and minister responsible for the economic development agency of Canada says N.A.I.G plays an important role in the development of young Indigenous athletes offering them an experience where they can test their limits and allows them to come together through sport.

The 2023 games run from July 15th to the 23rd.
