Cyclist dead after being found injured on roadside near Digby

An 81-year-old from Georgia is dead after Digby RCMP responded to a call of an injured cyclist lying on Lansdowne Road.

Police responded to the call at about 3:30 p.m. on August 20. The Savannah, GA man was treated by EHS then transported to Digby General hospital where he died.

There are no obvious signs of a collision with a vehicle, police say. They’re continuing to investigate.

Police closed down the road for several hours, with traffic control by Bear River Volunteer Fire Department; it has since reopened.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Digby RCMP at 902-245-2579 or Anonymously through Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers.
