Review underway after inmate escapes Dartmouth jail

An internal investigation is underway to find out how a man was able to escape a Dartmouth jail.

Ryan Taylor Wilband was able to slip away from the Nova Scotia Correctional Facility on Monday.

He was caught a day later after police believe he robbed a bank in Greenwood and did a dine and dash at an area restaurant.

Wilband is facing new charges including robbery and theft along with possession of a weapon.

Justice Minister Brad Johns says the escape is being reviewed within correctional services.
