Viola, Cello Duo Coming to Antigonish

The New Cohort viola and cello duo is embarking on a 15-day tour with a stop in Antigonish.

The New Cohort was founded in the early days of the COVID 19 pandemic by Keith Hamm and Julie Hereish to explore chamber music possibilities while in household isolation. They have already done many online and in person shows including the Edmonton Symphony Stage to Screen Series.

The tour will begin on September 10th and the Antigonish concert will be held on the 17th. They are also scheduled to perform in other Nova Scotia communities like Annapolis Royal, and Tatamagouche. The New Cohort will also be working with young students through the Debut goes to School program. A program that provides students with an opportunity to take part in live interactive learning sessions and other events.

This is all made possible with the help of Debut Atlantic, and classical music organization committed to developing young artists. They would like to thank their partners and sponsors that came together to bring artists to communities and venues of all sizes in our region.
