The Municipality of the County of Richmond held the first committee of the whole meeting since the summer break last night.
A slideshow on the updated strategic plan was presented. The plan is simplified with some actions eliminated and council is expected to bring it up again at the next council meeting at the end of the month. The plan was unanimously approved by the council members.
They also discussed possible locations to place speed radar signs. Speeding has been an issue in the municipality and school zones have been listed as possible locations for these signs. The hope is that they will remind drivers to slow to the posted speed limit ensuring the safety of pedestrians.
Housing remains and issue and council plans to address the housing needs in the county with the province at an engagement session in October to come up with solutions.
Their next municipal council meeting is set to be held on September 26th at 7PM
