Fiona: NS Power Crews Making Progress On Outages

It’s day six of no power for many in our province, especially eastern areas as cleanup from Hurricane Fiona continues.

The lights are still off for about 75-thousand Nova Scotia Power customers.

In an update this morning, the utility says more crews and damage assessors are arriving from out of province.

More than 1,500 people are in the field, and two satellite emergency operations centres are in place in Truro and Sydney.

NS Power says it will take time to make progress through downed trees and lines, and washed out roads.

They say most should be restored by tomorrow, but some won’t have power until next week.
