Look up! The Orionid meteor shower will peak this week!

The Orionid meteor shower began September 26 and will continue until November 22 but it’s at its peak this week! Overnight Thursday (Friday morning) will be the best time to watch, between midnight and dawn.

Orionids tend to have around 10 to 20 meteors/hour, some with long tails and bright fireballs.

Earlier this week, the fuller moon obscured the view but by Thursday night/Friday morning, we will have a crescent moon and mostly ideal viewing conditions – just a few clouds are forecasted for the entire province tonight.
