New Golf Course Could be Coming to Inverness County

Golfers in Inverness County and beyond may soon have another 18-hole course to enjoy.

Cabot Cape Breton hopes to build the new golf course in West Mabou.

They are in the process of consulting with residents to get their feedback on the project. Once the project is greenlit it will be located in a portion of West Mabou Provincial Park. One third of the park’s footprint would be leased by Cabot.

The region is already a popular tourist destination and Cabot feels another golf course would make an excellent attraction and economic opportunity. The increased economic activity from the new course could benefit rural gas stations and other small business. and create more employment opportunities.

Cabot owns and operates the award-winning Cabot Cape Breton Golf Course, and they employ close to 500 people during the peak season and they add over $20 Millon to the GDP of Cape Breton every year.
