Aaron MacDonald Releasing First Album Since 2009

A Cape Breton Musician is making a comeback.

Aaron MacDonald who was born and raised in Mabou has a new album coming out, his first in 13 years. The album named “Rights and Wrongs” features songs that Macdonald wrote during the pandemic, a time where he found a lot of inspiration for material.

The name of the album is also the title track. “I had my own issues with alcohol and other things, and this is more or less a song about how we all have choices to make whether we do the right things, or the wrong things and I feel my life has been a constant battle between the rights and the wrongs, and I felt it was a fitting title for the album.” Says MacDonald.

MacDonalds music style was influenced by the country music, celtic music, and folk music he grew up listening to. This new album has songs that combine elements of Pop, Americana and other genres. MacDonald took a break from touring and recording in order to raise his family and he will soon be performing at various concerts in the Maritimes this fall to promote the new album. His next show will be at Wits Public House in Inverness on Thursday.

The Rights and Wrongs album is set to be released on September 23rd and you can learn more about Aaron MacDonald and listen to some of his music at: Aaron MacDonald Music
