An emergency alert that was issued in relation to a Pictou county search early this morning, has since been lifted.
New Glasgow Regional Police say a report of suspicious activity involving two men, Ronald Jamieson and Christopher MacKay, came in late last night.
The RCMP has lifted the shelter in place for Trenton residents, as the investigation at this time indicates there is no immediate threat to the community.
New Glasgow police have Jamieson in custody.
As the search for Christopher MacKay continues, RCMP ask Trenton and Pictou county residents to be vigilante, do not approach MacKay and to contact 911 or New Glasgow police.
