On Canada’s East Coast, where storytelling and music are woven tightly into the culture, few artists embody that spirit quite like Andre Pettipas. As the driving force behind Andre Pettipas and The Giants, Andre has built a reputation for electrifying live shows, deeply personal songwriting, and an unwavering commitment to community, both on and off the stage.

A Relentless East Coast Performer
Hailing from the mainland side of the Canso Causeway, Andre has carved out a career defined by hustle and heart. With hundreds of shows played across Canada, his live presence is as much a calling card as his recorded music. His band, Andre Pettipas and The Giants, blends high-energy rock with personal and reflective lyrics, earning Andre a 2026 nomination for ECMA Entertainer of the Year.

If you were to take a look at his social media platforms, you would see glimpses which reinforce what fans already know: Andre thrives on the road. From intimate house parties, to bar gigs, to festival stages and self-produced events, his connection with audiences is rooted in authenticity and a sense of shared experience.
Recent Releases
One of Andre’s recent releases, Gypsophila, marks a profound evolution in his songwriting.
Written in memory of his niece, Blake Everleigh, who passed away from SIDS, the track is widely regarded as his most personal work to date. It took two years after her passing for him to finally write about it… around the same time he got sober, which Andre proudly and openly speaks about. The song explores grief, healing, and perseverance, transforming personal tragedy into a universal message of resilience. The title itself references the ‘baby’s breath flower’, symbolizing innocence and everlasting love.
Most recently, Andre teamed up with another east coast artist, Taylor Jensen, to collaborate on another powerful song, “Cheap Dopamine”; mixing the grit of east coast rock with the velvet smoothness of country-pop.
Adding another layer of significance, Andre collaborated with Jeremy Taggart of Our Lady Peace; a full-circle moment for an artist who cites the band as a formative influence from childhood.
ALT CTRL: A New Chapter with Canadian Rock Icons

In addition to his work with The Giants and his solo work, Andre is stepping into a new spotlight through ALT CTRL, a supergroup featuring members of iconic Canadian bands: Jeremy Taggart (Our Lady Peace) and Patrick Pentland (Sloan), with Andre as a rising frontman.
Together, ALT CTRL delivers a nostalgic, high-energy tribute to 90s rock, blending veteran musicianship with Andre’s youthful edge.
