RCMP say one man went into the store in Lower South River in May.
They say two more people followed, and a man jumped over the counter and demanded cash from the only employee in the store.
Police say the three took off, no weapon was ever seen, and no one was hurt.
Officers arrested Anthony Dorsey, 37, and April Murnaghan, 28, in the Toronto area in August; the pair, who are both from Lower South River, made their first appearances in the case on robbery charges three days later.
They had show cause hearings in Antigonish Provincial Court shortly after their arrests.
Murnaghan, who was released from custody, is scheduled for election-and-plea Wednesday; her hearing was adjourned in September and twice in November.
Dorsey, who was denied bail, received a two-and-a-half year sentence in-custody, he received credit for seven-and-a-half months served, followed by two years of probation, a firearms prohibition and a DNA order; he also received a concurrent sentence of 30 days in-custody and two years of probation last week.
