Antigonish Delightful December Winners

Two Antigonish organizations received funding for the Delightful December award.

The Antigonish Emergency Fuel Fund and the Antigonish Food Bank received the cash award from revenue collected from parking metres in December.

According to the municipal website, The Antigonish Emergency Fuel Fund offers emergency financial support to low-income families to cover the cost of heating their homes. This will be needed in a time of increased fuel prices.

Representatives from both organizations were present at last night’s meeting to receive their cheques.

Mayor Laurie Boucher says the two charities are close to everyone’s heart in the community.

She acknowledged that the two organizations will be very busy this year and hopes the funding will help.

Both recipients were awarded with $3,080
