Antigonish students head to Riverside for grad ceremony

Action is returning to the high banks of Riverside, but this time, it isn’t racing.

A graduation ceremony for students from Dr. J.H. Gillis High in Antigonish is being held at Riverside International Speedway in James River Friday night.

COVID-19 restrictions mean traditional grad ceremonies can’t take place, so members of the school community are making their way to the track for a physically-distanced event that includes a “grad march” for students in their gowns and caps, as well as music.

It’s by invitation-only for students, their family members and community leaders; it’s not open to members of the general public.
