Booster dose appointments open for elementary aged kids

Kids between the ages of five to 11 are being greenlit to get a COVID-19 booster shot.

Bookings opened today, with the first appointment times on Tuesday.

For most kids, it’s recommended to wait five-and-a half months — or 168 days — since their last shot of the first two doses.

But for kids who are immunocompromised, public health says they only need to wait 120 days since finishing their three-dose primary series.

The Pfizer vaccine is the only one approved for pediatric use.
