Aquaculture funding announced for pair of Inverness Co. First Nations community projects

Officials with the federal government have announced $545, 000 in funding for a pair of aquaculture projects at a First Nations community in Inverness Co.

Rodger Cuzner, Cape Breton-Canso MP, announced the money for the Waycobah First Nation’s steelhead trout farm operation Monday.

The federal funding will help Waycobah officials expand the operation and upgrade their processing facility; it comes from ACOA’s business development program.

Provincial officials are contributing $140, 000; band officials are investing $135, 000 in the expansion.
