Canso man charged with impaired driving following tractor trailer crash

Police say a man from Guysborough Co. has been arrested for driving a tractor trailer drunk.

They say officers were called to an overturned tractor trailer in the median of Hwy. 104 in Alma, Pictou Co. at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

RCMP say they also had a 911 call regarding a possible impaired driver in the same vehicle after it was reported swerving between both lanes of traffic.

They say the 50-year-old Canso man driving the tractor trailer, who was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, faces charges of impaired driving and refusing to provide a blood sample; he’s expected in Pictou Provincial Court Feb. 28.

Police say that section of Hwy. 104 was down to one lane for clean-up all night.
