2025 Canso Regatta launches

A beloved seaside tradition, the Canso Regatta has set sail once again.

First launched in 1885, it’s now a homecoming week offering more than just boat races.

Canso Regatta 2025 kicked off over the weekend and continues through Sunday.

The schedule includes pickle ball, the lobster crate run, cardboard canoe races, a sand sculpture contest, a street dance and many other events.

One event has had to change course: Friday’s fireworks have been cancelled due to the province-wide burn ban and tinder dry conditions.

Instead, there will be a lighted boat parade in the Canso Harbour.

You can vote for first, second and third place.
