Canso woman facing charges after SPCA seizes 10 dogs and a cat

A Guysborough County woman is facing charges after the SPCA rescued 10 dogs and one cat from her home.

The animal welfare organization says officers found the pets living in poor conditions in Canso in September.

The 68-year-old woman was ordered to provide better conditions for the animals at the time, but officers returned in November and seized them due to unsanitary conditions.

The woman will face the charges in court in Antigonish in February.

The Nova Scotia SPCA maintains it has a zero-tolerance policy for animal cruelty and neglect.
