Another successful Hurricane Fiona relief fundraiser was held over the weekend.

The Savoy Theatre in Glace Bay and Peg Entertainment organized a benefit show called “Frig Off Fiona” to raise funds to cover damage caused by the storm. This funding is set to go the Canadian Red Cross.

Savoy theatre’s executive director Pam Leader says they had some high calibre entertainment at the event including Jimmy Rankin Ron James, and many others dedicated their time for the cause.

$52.973 was raised at the event and with the help of donations from the Government of Canada a total of $105.946 will be going towards families affected by the hurricane.

This exceeded their fundraising goal of $100.000
