Colchester County District RCMP are investigating a fatal all-terrain vehicle crash that occurred on a trail near Brookfield.
On November 20th at around 6PM the RCMP received a report of two missing people who were expected back from an ATV ride.
A search was conducted with the help of local ground search and rescue teams when of the missing people called emergency services from a residence. The 21-year-old Salmon River man who was suffering from exposure to the elements but was otherwise uninjured then led the emergency crews to a location on the trail where he and another rider were involved in the crash.
The 20-year-old passenger, a woman from Salmon River was located and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing and is being assisted by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office.
