Cold Weather Saftey Tips from the Canadian Red Cross

A cold weather system is coming to the Maritimes and there are ways that you can prepare.

The Canadian Red Cross has some good safety tips to consider.

Drinking warm fluids and eating high-calorie food can keep you warm but it is best to avoid caffeine and alcohol.

If you are travelling in cold weather bring a survival kit with necessary supplies.

Check on family and friends to ensure they are doing alright in this kind of weather.

If you plan to go outside dress according to the conditions and make sure you cover exposed skin.

If your clothes get wet, they should be changed as soon as possible to avoid frostbite.
