Current Situation With Fuel in Antigonish Town and County

The long line ups at gas stations in the Town and County of Antigonish appear to be dying down for the time being. Due to power outages caused by the hurricane, many residents lined up for close to three hours at operational gas stations just to get their fuel. A worker at the Irving Station on Post Road in the Town, said a line up of people waiting to buy gas extended all the way to James Street.

The Bayside Travel Centre is prepared to accommodate people that need fuel and other goods. The rest stop had a long line up of people throughout the weekend but most people were patient as they waited their turn to purchase their fuel.

Some people managed to get fuel in Port Hawkesbury.

Updates on power restoration and the reopening of businesses will be posted to the Town and County of Antigonish social media feeds.
