Darmouth man arrested in St. Peter’s on drug and weapons counts

A Dartmouth man has been arrested on drug and weapons charges following a traffic stop in St. Peter’s.

RCMP say they pulled the man over driving 128 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.

They say a search of his vehicle found a machete, cocaine, cash, a concealed handgun, and related material.

Police say the items were seized and 48-year-old Bruce Mills was arrested without incident.

He appeared in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Monday on counts of:

-possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
-possession of a loaded prohibited firearm
-unlawful possession of a firearm
-possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
-unsafe storage firearm
-possession firearm/ammunition in motor vehicle
-laundering proceeds of crime

He returns to court Tuesday.
