Drug trafficking charges for five people in Quad County

Police have charged five people with drug trafficking after a 12-month investigation.

RCMP say the Antigonish-Guysborough Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) probe was into a group that was actively selling drugs to young people.

One suspect was arranging to sell cocaine and a search led to seizing the illicit drug in May.

Cocaine, ecstasy, and cash were seized from two homes searched by officers in September.

“By identifying and targeting this network, we were able to significantly reduce the flow of harmful substances to young people in the community,” says RCMP Constable Tyler Baird.

Three men and a woman between the ages of 20 to 28 and one youth have received multiple drug charges.

All individuals were released on conditions and are expected to appear in court at later dates.
