Update 8:12 pm: Man in custody after emergency alert

A man has been taken into custody after an armed and dangerous man triggered an emergency alert in Victoria, Inverness and Cape Breton counties.

RCMP officers were dealing with to a situation involving an armed person who had barricaded himself inside a home.

Police were advising people to lock their doors and windows and avoid the area.

There were street closures on Humes Rear East Loop and Highway 105 between the north and south entrance to Humes Rear East Loop and Jo Gun Road.
