Scleroderma Atlantic is busy preparing for its Make a Move for Scleroderma event, being held on Saturday, 27th at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre. This event consists of a walk/run, refreshments, snacks, and other related activities. Thanks to the support of our donors, in 2025 we raised approximately $50,000 with five events across Atlantic Canada. As a registered charity, funds raised are used to support those living with scleroderma, including our David Shea Fund, which financially assists those incurring expenses as a result of their disease.
Scleroderma is a rare chronic autoimmune disease, also known as “hard skin”, which forces the body’s immune system to attack its own tissues and may lead to hardening and tightening of the skin and damage to internal organs. Scleroderma is life altering, life threatening and without a cure. Our organization strives to assist those suffering with the disease by increasing awareness, promoting health and wellness, and raising funds for programs and patient support.
