Fatal collision in Princeport under investigation

RCMP are investigating a fatal crash between a motorcycle and a farm vehicle in Princeport.

Police say it happened August 7 around 4:45 p.m. on Princeport Road, when a westbound motorcycle and an eastbound tractor towing a trailer collided on a hill.

The motorcycle’s driver, a 38-year-old man from Upper North River, died at the scene. The tractor’s driver was taken to hospital for assessment. Neither vehicle had passengers.

Princeport Road was closed for several hours while emergency crews and an RCMP collision reconstructionist worked at the scene. The road has since reopened.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
