Festival Antigonish Summer Theatre and Theatre Antigonish Welcome New Manginging Director

Festival Antigonish Summer Theatre and Theatre Antigonish have named their new managing director.

Antigonish native Patrick McKenna has recently returned to the community to serve the position after spending seven years as the executive director for Habitat for Humanity in British Columbia.

McKenna has 25 years of experience working the business and nonprofit sector and 15 years working in community theatre production and performance. As a past board member on different arts and economic development organizations and as former elected councilor for the Town of Comox in British Columbia he will bring a unique perspective to the role.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from St. Francis Xavier University and is very passionate about the arts, music and theatre. He is also an accomplished musician and singer in two Antigonish bands, Hammer Down and Fairmont Road.

Artistic Director, Andrea Boyd says McKenna has held a passion for theatre for a long time and she is delighted to welcome him to the team.

McKenna says this role is a dream come true as he grew up watching productions in Bauer Theatre and he looks forward to supporting the ongoing success of live theatre in Antigonish.

He will assume the new role on March 1st.
