Fiona Could Impact Parts Of N.S. Early Saturday

It might be a good time to put away your patio furniture.

Hurricane Fiona is gaining strength, and could arrive in Nova Scotia on Saturday morning.

The Canadian Hurricane Centre’s latest model shows the track passing just east of Cape Breton, heading toward Newfoundland.

A Tropical Cyclone Information statement has been issued for most of Nova Scotia, except Yarmouth, Shelburne and Digby counties.

The centre says Fiona will transform into a large post-tropical storm by Saturday, and the impact-area could be very large.

It’s currently a Category 3 hurricane.
