Florida Cyclist Flown to Halifax following Cape Breton Mishap

A visitor from the United States is lucky to be alive after a collision near the Cabot Trail.

RCMP say the 47-year-old man from Florida was cycling with friends in White Point, Victoria County when he lost control of his bicycle and went over a steep embankment on Thursday morning.

The man who has serious injuries was transported to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and then air lifted to Halifax for further treatment.

RCMP say the investigation is ongoing.
