Guysborough Co. building supplies store closing Friday

A building supplies store in Guysborough Co. is shutting its doors.

The Central Supplies outlet in Guysborough will close for good at the end of the day Friday.

There were four full-time employees at the location; only one is being relocated.

No reason has been given for the sudden closure.

The store is owned by New Brunswick-based Kent Building Supplies.

Kent is a subsidiary of J.D. Irving Ltd.; Irving officials bought the central chain of stores from Antigonish’s Steve Smith for an undisclosed price in a deal that closed at the end of last December.

There are six other Central stores remaining in the province- Antigonish, Port Hawkesbury, Inverness, Stellarton, Sydney and Windsor.
