Health Canada Secures Additional Supply of Childrens Acetaminophen Products

Health Canada has announced they have secured a foreign supply of children’s acetaminophen products. The amount to be imported will increase the supply available to consumers and help to address the acetaminophen shortage for the time being. Canadians will be able to buy the medication at retail and pharmacies in the coming weeks, but they are earnestly requested to purchase only what they need to ensure that its available for everyone that requires it.

To further increase the supply, Health Canada has also approved the importation of infant and children’s Ibuprofen and acetaminophen to supply Canadas hospitals.

Health Canada shares the concerns of parents and caregivers about their inability to find infant and children’s acetaminophen and ibuprofen, products essential for families, caregivers, and health care professionals to reduce fever and pain. They are continuing to explore every possible option to end the shortage.
