Inverness Co. drug bust suspect pleads not guilty

A man charged in relation to a drug bust in Inverness Co. has entered a not guilty plea in the case.

Police say they found cocaine and drug paraphernalia when they searched a Melville home in June.

They charged Steven Leslie MacEachern, 25, with possession for the purpose of trafficking and a breach; he was released from custody following a bail hearing three days later.

He pleaded not guilty during an election-and-plea hearing in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Monday; he’s scheduled to stand trial March 2 and March 19.

MacEachern was also charged in relation to an April 2018 bust in Sugar Camp; he was sentenced to two years in prison after he pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking in relation to a Feb. 2012 bust in Port Hawkesbury.
