Local divers find body of missing Digby County diver

The body of a missing diver in Digby County has been found.

RCMP say a local dive team recovered the body of a 29-year-old man from Meteghan on Friday afternoon.

He went missing on August 30 in St. Mary’s Bay, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre and RCMP searched over Labour Day weekend.

In a post on Facebook, the Little Brook Fire Department say he was their training officer and engineer.

They say the man was with the department for 13 years, starting as a junior firefighter.

The department thanked the all the fire departments who helped search, and brought resolution to his family and the community.
