Local hockey goalie makes it to the NHL

A Cape Breton hockey player will be lacing up his skates for the NHL.

Hockey Nova Scotia has announced Colten Ellis from River Deny plays in his first major league game Wednesday night.

His debut as goaltender for the Buffalo Sabres will be a home game in Buffalo.

He is formerly known for goalkeeping on the Cape Breton West Islanders.
