The track and field facility at a local school is being dedicated to the memory of a long-time coach.
Angus R. Beaton died in 2017.
The Mabou native was a high school teacher at the former Mabou Consolidated School for over 30 years.
Beaton continued coaching at area schools even after his retirement from teaching in 1994.
A mainstay of the region’s track & field community, he coached dozens of students over the years.
The track facility at Dalbrae Academy, one of the many schools Beaton coached for, will become the Angus R. Beaton Memorial Field.
