The Pirates won the opening game of the best-of-seven Sid Rowe Division final in Port Hawkesbury Friday night.
Game time is 7:30 p.m.
The second-round series returns to Port Hawkesbury for game three March 22.
The Cape Breton West Islanders visit the top-ranked Cole Harbour Wolfpack to open their second-round series in the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League playoffs.
The Islanders (15-19-2), who finished the regular season fifth in the eight-team league with 32 points, beat the Valley three-games-to-one in the opening round to advance.
The Wolfpack (30-2-4), the league’s top team with 64 points, swept Pictou Co. in three games in the first round; they won three of the four regular season games against Cape Breton West.
Game time is 7:40 p.m.
The teams play the second game in the best-of-five semi-final series in East Hants Sunday afternoon.
The Cabot Highlanders play the first of three road games in as many days in the Nova Scotia Minor Midget AAA Hockey League when they visit the Admirals.
The Highlanders (4-24-4), who have lost back-to-back games, are last in the eight-team league with 12 points, five points back of Cape Breton for seventh.
The Admirals have won the first four games in the five-game season series.
Game time is 6:30 p.m.
The Highlanders visit the Kings in Sackville Sunday morning.
The Northern Selects host Halifax in the opening game of the best-of-five Nova Scotia Female Midget AAA Hockey League final.
The teams finished at the top of the standings during the regular season- the Selects (19-1-4) were first with 42 points, two points up on second-place Halifax (18-2-4).
The Selects, who had two wins, a loss and a tie in the four regular season games between the teams, swept the Penguins in three games in the first round; Halifax swept Cape Breton in their series.
Puck drop at the Pictou Co. Wellness Centre is 2:15 p.m.
The series remains in New Glasgow for game two Sunday afternoon.
The province’s two Quebec Major Junior Hockey League teams play the second of back-to-back games to close out the regular season.
St. Andrews’ Declan Smith and the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles visit the last-place Acadie-Bathurst Titan for the second time in as many days at 3 p.m.
The Screaming Eagles won Friday night’s game between the teams.
The Halifax Mooseheads, coming off a home win against Saint John Friday night, host the Charlottetown Islanders at Scotiabank Centre at 4:30 p.m.
The Mooseheads have won seven of the first eight games in the nine-game season series between the Maritimes Division teams.
