MacDonald, Smith win ECMAs

There were two local winners at the 2019 East Coast Music and Industry Awards.

The awards were presented in Charlottetown Sunday night.

Kyle MacDonald of Inverness was named Gaelic artist of the year; Mabou’s Stephen “Snickers” Smith received the live sound engineer of the year award.

Cheticamp’s J.P. Cormier won folk recording of the year with Dave Gunning for their album “Two” Thursday night.
