Man arrested after hate-motivated incident at N.S. arena

A man has been charged after a hate-motivated incident toward a young hockey referee.

RCMP say a spectator shouted a comment toward the youth during a hockey game at the Eastern Shore Community Centre earlier this month.

The referee ended the game and asked the spectator to leave.

This week, a 39-year-old man from East Chezzetcook was arrested for mischief related to the incident.

He will appear in Dartmouth court at a later date.
