Man arrested following firearms complaint scheduled to return to court

A suspect facing a number of charges in relation to a firearms complaint in Inverness Co. is expected back in court Monday.

Robert MacDonald, 21, has been charged with a number of offences, including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon and break-and-enter.

The Port Hastings man, whose case opened in court in August, was referred to the province’s Restorative Justice Program in January; he’s scheduled for a status update in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court after his case was adjourned in May.

Police say they received a call a man pointed a firearm at someone at a home in Port Hastings in July 2017.

They say they determined it was a pellet gun.
