A suspect charged in connection with a drug bust in Port Hawkesbury is scheduled to return to court Monday.
Joel Francis Hugh MacDonnell, 36, faces two drug charges and a pair of breaches after officers pulled over a driver for a cell phone infraction in Jan. 2017.
Police say they ended up finding oxycodone pills during the stop.
MacDonnell, who pleaded not guilty to his charges in March 2017, is scheduled to stand trial in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court after it was adjourned in Oct. 2018 and March.
He was sentenced to 18 months house arrest for theft, two possession of stolen property counts, and a firearms offence following an Inverness Co. firearms theft in March 2017.
Police say someone broke into a Creignish-area home and stole seven different guns, a crossbow, several types of ammunition and a generator in Aug. 2016.
