Man charged in Cheticamp fire has case adjourned

The case of a suspect facing an arson charge following a fire in Inverness Co. has been adjourned.

Blaze Anthony Basker, 46, who is also charged with failure to comply with conditions, was expected for election-and-plea in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court May 31; instead, the hearing was adjourned until June 28.

Police say officers responded to a boat on fire at a Cheticamp business in December.

They say they investigated, and determined the fire was deliberately set.

No one was hurt.
